LULAC sues city of Houston, aims to eliminate at-large city council positions

LULAC — an organization that fights for equal representation in the Latino community across the U.S. — first announced it would act against the city earlier this year. The lawsuit claims incorporating the at-large positions “has deprived” minority voters of their voting rights under law and asks the city to change to all single-member districts.
