HISD faces declining enrollment and looming deficit, sparking concerns of school closures

During a Nov. 10 board meeting, HISD Superintendent Millard House III gave an update on his plan for district transformation, one that he said is needed to keep the district financially afloat. Although nothing is set in stone, the possibility of school closures has sparked major concerns among trustees and parents at the meeting.
