Galveston ISD accelerates hiring process for new superintendent, naming Matthew Neighbors as lone finalist

Some community members and a trustee said during Wednesday’s special school board meeting that the district was rushing the process to replace Jerry Gibson, who resigned earlier this month amidst scrutiny from board members and the public.
